Smart monitoring, early warning feedback, and can even detect abnormal water usage? Is the smart water meter really that amazing?

In modern society, no one can live without using tap water in their daily life, and as long as you use tap water, you will inevitably come into contact with a water meter.

Speaking of water meters, we have to mention the problems commonly encountered when using traditional water meters:

1. Difficult to Read:When reading the numbers on old-fashioned water meters, difficulties often arise due to factors like the installation location, meter quality, or lack of widespread knowledge on how to read them. Not only is it hard for the user to see, but sometimes meter readers also have to spend considerable effort to get an accurate reading.

2. Inconvenient Payment:During the years of using old-fashioned water meters, not only was reading the meter numbers tedious, but collecting and paying the water bill was also a very cumbersome and difficult affair. Home collections, quarterly billing, monthly billing, paying at the water authority office, and so on, all required people to spend a considerable amount of time and energy to get the matter sorted out.

3. Difficult to Monitor:When using old-fashioned water meters, it's hard to visually observe and know exactly how much water you've used, how much water is left, when payment is due, or when there is an abnormal consumption or usage of water. Apart from recording consumption and measurement, they have no other functions.

Smart water meters are different because they feature the following targeted upgrades:

1. Convenient Digital Reading:They abandon the roller-style number display of the old meters and use an easy-to-read display screen to show the meter reading, which is more readily accepted by the public.

2. Simple and Quick Payment:Paying for a smart water meter is very simple, as it can be operated directly on smart devices like mobile phones or computers, eliminating the need to make a trip to the water supply department.

3. Instant Information Access:By utilizing remote transmission and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, smart water meters can not only be read remotely and allow users to check water usage on a smart device at any time, but they can also provide timely alerts in the event of a leak or when the water volume is nearly depleted.

Most importantly, in addition to the above, some smart water meters have functions for smart monitoring and early warning feedback. This means that if the water meter user is an elderly person living alone or a person with limited mobility, the smart water meter system will make an abnormal judgment and issue a warning if the water consumption is too high (above 500L) or too low (less than 2L) within a 12-hour period.

The emergence of this feature is highly anticipated, as a smart water meter with this function allows us to receive timely alerts when an emergency occurs with an elderly person living alone or a person in need, thereby preventing a series of subsequent issues.

It protects people's life and property safety and also reduces the worries of children and friends who are working away from home—it's a win-win situation.
